SUNDAY
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL: Come here about Refugee Resettlement from Lutheran Family services from Bedrija Jazic, this Sunday at 9:30 AM
Lutheran Family Services in the Carolinas is the only refugee resettlement agency in South Carolina; they assist refugees resettle to communities from different parts of the world. The majority of these refugees are ethnic minorities who have fled persecution in Myanmar (formerly Burma). They have been persecuted in part because they are Christians in a predominantly Buddhist country. Their fight for freedom and democracy and speaking against the dictatorial government was another reason for their persecution. Other refugees are Christians from Iraq who have been caught in the crossfire of sectarian violence as well as those Iraqis who served as interpreters and guides for the US Military or other US institutions in Iraq. Their service to the US government put them, as well as their family, in great danger and they were forced to leave their homes, jobs, family and friends and find safety in the US.
*SUNDAY SCHOOL YEAR END CELEBRATION is Sunday, May 18th in the Sanctuary 9:30 - 10:30 AM. All ages participating!
