Sunday School

August 1, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Welcome to Living Springs Lutheran Church Sunday School!  We are very pleased you will be participating this year!  Our Sunday School theme for this year is

“Train up a child in the way that he (she) should go: and when he (she) is old, he (she) will not depart from it.”  -Proverbs 22:6

In baptism the pastor asks:

“In Christian love you have presented these children for Holy Baptism. You should, therefore, faithfully bring them to the services of God's house, and teach them the Lord's Prayer, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments. As they grow in years, you should place in their hands the Holy Scriptures and provide for their instruction in the Christian faith, that, living in the covenant of their Baptism and in communion with the Church, they may lead godly lives until the day of Jesus Christ.”

And the parent responds:

“I do.”

Living Springs is committed to being a partner with you and your child in fulfilling these responsibilities.  There are educational opportunities throughout the year that are offered by our Christian Education Team including:  Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp, First Communion Class, Confirmation, etc.  But one of the main ways we teach our children and grow in faith is during the Sunday School Hour 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM.

Bring your child(ren), and attend one of our two Adult Sunday School classes. It is a place where we can learn and grow together as God’s children.  If you have any questions about Sunday School, or other educational opportunities, talk with Amy Sensabaugh or Lexanne Graves, our Director of Faith Formation. They want to assist you in any way they can.
