Living Springs
Mission Partnership
Endowment Fund
Established in 1995 in memory of Gary Shannon Long, son of the Rev. Dr. and Mrs. E. Edward Long. Pastor Long was the Mission Developer of Living Springs Lutheran Church.
The encouragement, prayers and financial support in the early days of the life of
Living
Springs
Lutheran
Church by a congregation in far away Iowa, made a profound impression upon Pastor Long, his family, and other charter members of Living Springs.
Trinity
Lutheran
Church, New Hampton, Iowa, adopted Living Springs as their mission congregation.
The establishment of the Living Springs Mission Partnership Endowment Fund is a way of expressing thanks to the members of
Trinity
Lutheran
Church. It is also a commitment that
Living
Springs
Lutheran
Church will always be involved in the establishment of new Lutheran congregations by annually financially supporting the development of a new congregation with earnings from the endowment.
The funds shall be invested in the ELCA MISSION INVESTMENT FUND. Only earnings from the funds may be used. The corpus must remain invested. In 2001, the Men of Living Springs made a commitment to host an annual golf tournament to raise funds for the Living Springs Mission Partnership Endowment Fund.
