LifePoint Counseling Center
LifePoint Counseling Center Opens LifePoint is a new professional, faith-based counseling center based in Lexington, South Carolina and serving the Greater Columbia, South Carolina area LifePoint is guided by three distinctive descriptors for its counseling services: professional, faith-based, and accessible. Professional counseling means that LifePoint therapists (currently four therapists and two spiritual directors) have a masters or doctorate degree in counseling and are professionally licensed. Faith-based counseling means that clients are invited to bring their faith with them to the counseling process, seeing a therapist who is trained to integrate the client’s faith into the change, healing, and growth process. Accessible counseling has two meanings. First, LifePoint has multiple locations, in Lexington and Northeast Columbia. Second, LifePoint is seeding a Samaritan Scholarship Fund, which reduces the cost for counseling for those who need this benefit. The combination of multiple locations and the Scholarship Fund is greater accessibility. LifePoint’s Board of Directors, composed of community members, is inviting congregations of any denomination, businesses, and individuals to become LifePoint Partners, helping to support this community counseling center.
