Social Outreach to the Community

Yearly projects for the Social Outreach Ministry includes:

  • Monthly meal for Ronald McDonald House
  • Collection of canned drink tabs to be recycled by Ronald McDonald House
  • Collection of toiletries for the Women’s Shelter
  • Collection of used greeting card fronts for the St. Jude’s Boys Ranch
  • Collection of used stamps for the VA Hospitals for therapeutic usage
  • Provide food items for God’s storehouse monthly
  • Remembering residents for the Rice Home on birthdays and special holidays

Special events sponsored by the Social Outreach Ministry include:

  • Purchasing of board games for the Aull Manor Girls’ Home (Lutheran Family Services)
  • Valentine Party for the residents of the Rice Home
  • Easter Basket collection for God’s Storehouse
  • Mother’s Day Flower Project for all women at the Rice Home
  • Father’s Day Flower Project for all men at the Rice Home
  • Collection of school supplies for the needy students at Killian Elementary School and God’s Storehouse.
  • Participation in the Walk for Life – Steps Against Breast Cancer
  • Mission church selected to receive interest from The Shannon Long Mission Endowment Fund
  • Missionary Sunday (offering for Global Missions)
  • Salvation Army Adopt-a-Kettle
  • Collection of hams and turkeys at Thanksgiving and Christmas for God’s Storehouse
  • Assisted WELCA with the Christmas Giving Tree
