This book describes the various types of care that Stephen Ministers are qualified to provide and defines boundaries beyond which Stephen Ministers should not venture with their care receivers' situations. The primary purpose of the book is to teach key leaders in Stephen Ministry congregations when and how to involve mental health professionals in caregiving situations. Includes chapters describing how Stephen Ministry may work in conjunction with self-help groups and mental health care professionals (in certain carefully defined situations). Appendices include focus questions, forms, and sample letters that can be used during the process of referring a care receiver.
